Aromatherapy Essential Oils

Aromatherapy is an holistic treatment. The aromatherapy was used to promote physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. Aromatherapy is the science and art of using the volatile, non-oily essences of plants in healing. Aromatherapy works on the olfactory system, so natural inhalation can be used safely. Due to the transdermal diffusion of essential oils, they easily penetrate the skin, reaching the vascular system where they are absorbed by the bloodstream.

The essential oils are highly concentrated substances extracted from flowers, leaves, stalks, fruits, and roots, and also distilled from resins. Essential oils act directly upon the hypothalamic centers, which have a regulating effect upon the pituitary gland known as the hypophysis, through hormones with the rest of endocrine system. Some essential oils are able to regulate endocrine dysfunction and immune disorders. The essential oils are always ordered through massage, baths, compresses, inhalation. The large amout of essential oils should be used in aromatherapy.

Essential oils are composed of different molecules. Some of these are terpenes, esters, ketones, aldehydes, alcohols and phenols. They are very volatile and some dissolve in both oil and water. As these highly volatile essences evaporate they are also inhaled, thus entering the body via the millions of sensitive cells that line the nasal passages.

  1. Mental Health - Clary Sage, Rose, Basil, Jasmine, German Chamomile
  2. Beauty - Essential Oils are very beneficial to reduce acne or blemishes or can be used in face washes or face masks to tone and balance healthy skin. Some of the essentials oils for beautiful skin are palmarosa oil, myrrh oil, frankincense oil
