Constipation Diet
The constipation is the situation in which bowel movements are occasional. They are always hard, dry, small in size, and difficult to eliminate. These are difficult evacuation of feces. The symptoms of constipation are such as painful bowel movements, and feeling bloated, uncomfortable and sluggish. The causes of constipation are high intake of fluids, fiber, exercise and routine diet. Constipation is very common in children and adults also. The ideal should be 2 or 3 bowel movements each day which approximates to a bowel movement for each meal consumed.
Relieving Constipation With Diet
- It is important to drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of fluid a day. This will help soften your stool.
- To choose foods that are quick to make or buy, such as fast foods, or prepared foods, both of which are usually low in fiber.
- Lack of water in your system is a large contributing factor to constipation.
- Offer fruits and vegetables with chunkier textures as opposed to strained.
- A diet high in vegetables and bran cereals is very effective in treating and preventing constipation.
- Some fruity foods that are higher in the sugar sorbitol, such as dried plums (prunes), and prune juice can also loosen bowels.
- To avoid other foods that are traditionally thought to be constipating such as bananas, most high fat foods, such as french fries, and processed foods.
Constipation and High Fibre Diet
- High fibre foods expand the inside walls of the colon, easing the passage of waste.
- With the right combination of foods, liquids, and medicines (if needed), every child should be able to have soft, comfortable stools.
- Eating incorrectly can have long-term effects.
- Drink plenty of liquids, including fruit or vegetable juices and water.
- Take a walk if you are up to it. Exercise helps to ease constipation.
- Always take foods made with whole grains.
